Fixture

Sunday we welcomed Penallta & Ynysowen to the welfare on a biting cold morning. We had 13 boys available for selection but Penallta travelled in numbers with over 20 kids. Abercarn played 3 games in all, Penallta A & B and then Ynysowen to finish. Penallta A were a strong side that ran hard and tackled well and our boys found it difficult to break through their iron defence, with the final score a deserved 9-3 to Penallta. Penallta B were a different animal altogether leaking tries to the Emerald & Blacks in the first and second halves. Abercarn worked hard throughout and turned them over 10-1, winning on aggregate 13-10. The final game against Ynysowen was the end to an extremely cold morning and saw us claw back a draw 3-3 with a late try in the corner.

MOM was awarded to Harry Dark for his quick thinking of turning defence into attack with his interception try. Well Done Harry – Keep it up!!!
