Pontypool RFC welcomed us and Cwmbran to the famous park for the curtain raiser before their Cup Match against Ystalyfera! Cwmbran were once again short on numbers with just 8 players whilst Abercarn turned up to the clash with 14 boys and had to keep the subs rolling to give everyone fair game time and keep the muscles warm. Abercarn took an early lead and held onto this throughout the game, scoring tries from all over the park whilst the rain lashed down. The Emerald & Blacks once again dug in at the tackle area with some big hits and managed to win convincingly 12-3 after 30 minutes of play. Thanks to Pontypool RFC for their warm welcome, the boys really enjoyed the afternoon of rugby and cheering the mighty Pooler onto the park!

MOM was awarded by Pooler to Ollie Thomas for his fancy footwork and gutsy tackling. Well done Ollie, Dai Bish would have been proud!!!
