Weather very warm good conditions for rugby but three-quarters play not great from both teams. Both packs just about equal but as the half moved on the carn just about got on top with a try from driving line out and pens score 14 to 3 half time. Monmouth took control and scored a nice try the Monmouth pack got on top in the scrums and give the carn a hard time.a couple of changes up front changed the game and the carn took control for the last 20 minutes and scored a nice try after pressure on the line captain Nathan Curtis with a dummy and crashing over final score 30 Points to 8. Good win for the  seconds against Machen .
