Fixture

On Sunday we travelled to our close rivals Blackwood for our second game of the season and also our second game of tackling. We started with a minutes silence in respect of Owen Parfitt the President of Blackwood RFC.

 Blackwood were fast out of the blocks scoring 4 tries in quick succession with some impressive ball handling skills. Abercarn responded with a solo try but eventually went down 13-1 to a strong well drilled outfit. The boys played for almost an hour and dug in well producing some impressive play on times and some courageous tackling. There were some good performances out there but a well deserved MOM was awarded to Curtis for his spirited performance and brave tackling – well done Curtis!!!
