Good team performance

Despite the long layoff, Abercarn continued their unbeaten run in the league by produced their best performance of the season crushing Llanhilleth by 64 points to nil. The home side fought bravely throughout the match but lacked the firepower to make any real impact on the game. In all, Abercarn scored ten tries and secured the bonus point after only half an hour of play. Centre Jack Davies scored a hat-trick; winger Andrew Fraser and scrum-half Rhys Morgan each scored a brace; and winger Aled Brown, lock Greg Baker and prop Nathan Curtis also crossed the whitewash. Outside-half Jamie Baker enjoyed a good afternoon with the boot by converting seven of the tries. Back at the clubhouse there were many candidates for the Man of the Match award which went to flanker Lewis James for his outstanding performance around the pitch. Whilst the players and coaches will be pleased with the performance there is still a lot of hard work required to continue the push to get back to the top of the table. This Saturday Abercarn welcome Newport HSOB.
